Also known as electrochemical polishing, anodic polishing or electrolytic polishing (especially in the metallography field), is an electrochemical process that removes material from a metallic work piece. It is used to polish, passivate, and deburr metal parts. It is often described as the reverse of electroplating. Further definition could refer to electro polishing as the process of smoothing and streamlining the surface of stainless steel up to 5-40microns by dipping the metal in electrolytic solution under electric.
